One of the World’s Most Acclaimed Restaurants to Open in Paradise Valley
By Michelle Glicksman | March 28, 2024
The world-renowned Mott 32 will open its first Arizona location—and only second in the United States—at the highly anticipated The Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley, The Palmeraie.
The restaurant, which is named in homage to 32 Mott Street in New York, where the city’s first Chinese convenience store opened in 1891, is renowned for its innovative approach to traditional Chinese cuisine and culinary excellence. The menu will feature traditional Cantonese dishes with some Beijing and Szechuan influences, prepared using modern and innovative cooking techniques from around the world. Diners can expect options including the signature 42-day apple wood roasted Peking duck, which will be carved tableside; barbecue pluma Iberico pork glazed with yellow mountain honey; and other delicacies. There will also be an expansive dim sum selection, with steamed, fried, and baked dumplings, including the signature soft quail egg, which is placed inside an Iberico pork siu mai with black truffle.
Mott 32 Scottsdale will be set in a 4,600-square-foot space with an additional 4,100 square feet of patio space and will showcase pool and mountain views. Its interior will be opulent, with a harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese aesthetics and contemporary elegance. Both lunch and dinner will be served daily. Its other eight locations include Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul, Cebu, Vancouver, and the soon-to-open Toronto.
“Scottsdale’s reputation for luxury and discerning tastes aligns perfectly with the Mott 32 experience,” says Malcolm Wood, founder of Mott 32. “The Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley provides an unparalleled canvas for us to showcase the essence of Mott 32—a blend of tradition, innovation, and uncompromising quality. We’re excited to embark on this culinary journey and welcome guests to experience our signature flavors and unmatched hospitality.”
Community representatives say the Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley, The Palmeraie, is “the crown jewel” within the $2 billion master-planned Palmeraie community. The resort sits on 18 acres of the 122-acre destination and features 215 rooms connected by quiet, lush courtyard gardens and shaded walkways. A stunning water feature adorns the grand lobby, and the main pool spans nearly 400 feet, making it one of the longest resort pools in North America.
Adjacent to The Ritz-Carlton is the high-end, mixed-use retail and restaurant district of The Palmeraie, with more than 60 luxury and specialty boutiques as part of its first phase.
The resort and Mott 32 are expected to be completed by late 2024.
